Pastor's Message
.
While we enjoy plenty, let’s remember the needy.

We are approaching the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, a time to relax and feast.  But while we do this, thousands of people are suffering in the world.  What can we do about it?
Last week many students from OCS committed to do something to help relieve suffering in the world.  We focused on the AIDS pandemic in Africa.  Jesus prioritized the neediest, and Africa is the poorest continent in the world with the most innocent people suffering from AIDS in the world—women and children.
We decided that December 1st—World AIDS Day—would be a good time to do something more. We hope to invite the community together, talk about the facts, and actually do something about it.  Please pray with me that the students at OCS will continue to catch the vision to help relieve human suffering.  And let’s pray that we will do the same.  We may not know exactly what to do yet, but I’m sure that, as we pray, the Holy Spirit will inspire us with ideas and actions to benefit the suffering around us.
If you have a moment, read Matthew 25:31-46.  May God help us during this festive season to help us remember and do something to help the needy.  Jesus was compassionate, and he is our Example.
